ART IS SPIRITUAL

We started work on the animal spirit totems about a year ago. Designing the look for the totems, we decided to use materials and gylphs that were symbolic to each animal spirit. Each concrete column was stained with fertilizer to achieve that earth tone and to provide a way to feed the plants without harming them. Every totem has a color and mineral that it is associated with. The crystals were inlayed in the cracks and crevices of the column. This was to give the illusion that the crystals were growing in the column. The wolf is associated with the color rose, for love thus its crystal is rose quartz. Frog teaches us transformation, its color is blue/green. These we are hoping will be completely by summer. So they can be not only beautiful pieces of art but also spiritual totems ready to guide us on our journey.
